  • Beginning: Birth (collodion baby).
  • Clinical picture: Mild / Moderate.
  • Non-syndromic: Does not affect other organs besides the skin.

It is a type of Congenital Autosomal Recessive Ichthyosis (ARCI), of a mild and rare type, characterized by the presence of large dark scales in specific areas of the body.

Babies are born covered in a collodion membrane.

The symptoms are a lamellar ichthyosis-like desquamation which especially affects the trunk, armpits, neck and scalp. The face and extremities are not affected by this ichthyosis.
